La Cotinière harbour
Located on the west coast of the island of Oléron, in the center of the wild coast, the port of Cotinière is much more than a place to stroll: it is the heart of Oleron fishing.
Sole, hake, sea bass, langoustine, shrimp, sardines ... more than 90 species of fish are unloaded at the quay every day.
The diversity of species (around 90 species are represented) and the versatility of the fleet (95 vessels, 300 fishermen) characterize the port of Cotinière.
Here we find the picturesque charm of fishing ports with brightly colored trawlers and lively fish markets.
Experience the effervescence of the fishermen's return to the quay and treat yourself by tasting exceptional fresh seafood.
Visits to the auction (regulated access) are organized by the Tourist Office of the island of Oléron.
